In a significant stride towards enhancing the IT landscape, IT Cluster Veliko Tarnovo and Veliko Tarnovo University "St. Cyril and St. Methodius" have signed a comprehensive Memorandum for join activities today, aimed at fostering a collaborative environment for both educational and industry advancement in the IT sector.

This new partnership aligns with the shared goal of developing the Veliko Tarnovo region – as an attractive location for IT business initiation and growth. The memorandum was signed by Professor Dr. Dimitar Yordanov Dimitrov, Rector of the University, and Milen Georgiev, Chairman of the IT Cluster's Board.

Highlights of the Memorandum:

  • Internship and Practicum Programs: Development and offering of internship programs for students in the IT sphere, providing practical experience in real-world environments.
  • Joint Research and Projects: Support and funding for collaborative research and projects, including international efforts, focusing on innovative IT products and services.
  • Seminars, Workshops, and Training: Organization of joint seminars, workshops, and training courses to enhance the knowledge and skills of students and faculty in the latest IT technologies and practices.
  • Specialized Courses and Programs: Development of specialized courses and educational programs in close cooperation with university faculties, tailored to meet the current and future needs of the IT industry.
  • Support for Innovation and Start-up Initiatives: Encouragement and support for student-led innovations and start-ups through mentoring programs, incubators, and accelerators.
  • Career Development Opportunities: Collaboration with university career centers to organize job fairs and other initiatives connecting students directly with IT sector employers.
  • Shared Platforms for Knowledge and Innovation: Development of shared platforms that facilitate knowledge and resource sharing, easing technology transfer and collaborative research and development efforts.
